about

'Casera: a short compilation' is the first release from dot.music. Part one features eclectic new sounds from Miris, Sprinks and Dreamin' Wild. We hope you enjoy the journey!

Miris

Miris is Monty Hartnett’s electronic music project. Spending most of his musical life as a drummer, the last few years has seen a growing output of electronic works. His first track was released in 2017 on Domestic Documents Vol 2, a compilation curated by Butter Sessions and Noise In My Head. Following this, Hartnett self released a tape: a collection of music put together for Chomley’s trailmix series. Earlier this year Miris released his first record, ‘In Omelas’ on Vessel: a label cofounded by Hartnett alongside friends. ‘Streams of Activity’ exhibits a softer side to earlier Miris productions, presenting a playful track of synth splatters that dance on a bed of reflective melody.

Sprinks

Sam Donaldson has been working prolifically in graphic design for years, providing Melbourne and beyond with memorable art and design. This is the first audio output from Sprinks and we are honoured to share it with you. ‘Reprise’ captures the essence of Donaldson’s process- a few synths and a sampler recording to tape, with an improvised mosaic of lush pads and broken beats. The idea for this label was first conceived upon hearing what Donaldson had been creating in his spare time. A few months on and here we are: we felt that ‘Reprise’ was the perfect introduction to Sprinks, and we look forward to sharing more of his work with you.

Dreamin’ Wild

It is with great pleasure we share one of Chris Jennings' bedroom recording gems. Jennings (Swazi Gold, Sagamore, Sledgehammer) is responsible for the bulk of Dreamin Wild’s compositions. Off the back of their second studio album ‘Heaven in Thirty Eleven’ (Research Records, 2019) ‘Tore Myself Apart’ offers listeners a chance to glean insight into the early recording processes of Dreamin’ Wild. An agonisingly beautiful piece of music we found so special, we thought we had to share it just as it is.
